{"id":4768,"date":"2021-05-28T16:33:23","date_gmt":"2021-05-28T14:33:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.urbe.aero\/corsi\/tea\/"},"modified":"2026-04-01T14:28:05","modified_gmt":"2026-04-01T12:28:05","slug":"tea","status":"publish","type":"corsi","link":"https:\/\/staging.urbe.aero\/en\/courses\/tea\/","title":{"rendered":"Test of English for Aviation (TEA)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In order to fly IFR or use your PPL abroad, you need an English radiotelephony licence and knowledge of English corresponding at least to \u201cICAO level 4\u201d (JAR-FCL 1.200).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These licences need to be regularly renewed (but in case of level 6), depending on the level you have achieved (4 years for level 4; 6 years for level 5).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Urbe Aero is a recognised TEA centre for Italy and Europe. Here you can study English and do your Test of English Aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will be assessed via spoken test lasting about 30 minutes and regarding the 6 areas foreseen by Annex 1 \u2013 ICAO e JAR-FCL (pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, interaction). Your score will be from 2 to 6 for each area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For further information on the test, please visit the TEA website at the following <a href=\"http:\/\/www.maycoll.co.uk\/aviation-english\/test_of_english_for_aviation.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">link<\/a>, download the information file and read it before going to the test (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.maycoll.co.uk\/pdfs\/TEA-notes.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TEA notes to candidate<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To enrol \u2013 with a 10-days-notice \u2013 download and fill in the <a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/TEA-Registration-Form-2019-01.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TEA FORM.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After having filled in every field, save it with the following format \u201cEXAM DATE &#8211; SURNAME NAME.pdf\u201d (e.g. 20210528 Rossi M.pdf).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then send it to our TEA centre administrator at the following email address <a href=\"mailto:denis.mariano@urbe.aero\">denis.mariano@urbe.aero<\/a> (tel. +39 347 8003921), indicating the days in which you would like to do your test (exam price eur 174).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will be contacted via email containing all data and the confirmation of your enrolment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SECTION ONE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Introduction (6.5 \u2013 8 minutes)<\/strong><br>The candidate will answer a series of general questions regarding their work environment\/course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SECTION TWO<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Comprehension and interactions (8 \u2013 12 minutes)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Part 2A: The candidate will hear 6 short messages linked to the world of aviation describing non-routine and emergency situations. The candidate needs to repeat the message fully (also using their own words) and then say whether the person speaking was a pilot or a controller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Part 2B: The candidate hears 4 longer messages, lasting about 15\/20 seconds, which he\/she needs to repeat. The candidate can take notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Part 2C: The candidate listens to some messages for which they have to show their problem-solving skills. First, they will ask some questions to the speaker and then they will give them some advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is possible to ask to repeat every message. WARNING: Many repeats could have a negative impact on your mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SECTION THREE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Speaking (8 \u2013 10 minuti)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The candidate has to describe a photo linked to the world of aviation. They then have to answer some questions regarding a second photo. Then the candidate will compare the two photos. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">OUTCOME<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You will be given a mark for each field. Your lowest mark will be your final mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The result of the test will be communicated within 10 working days.
