A dream that comes true

In Urbe Aero I received excellent theoretical and practical training, which led me to become an airline pilot after only 2 months from the end of my ATPL path. I chose Urbe Aero for the professionalism and great experience of the instructors and for the modern and innovative fleet that it uses to train its students.

The world of aviation has always fascinated me since I was little. When I was asked what I wanted to do when I grew up, my answer was always the same: fly.

Some girls dream of becoming a pastry chef, others a veterinarian, others a teacher. Me, on the other hand, I wanted to become an airplane pilot.

It is an unusual desire for a little girl, yet so strong that it drove me to leave my family and my homeland (Puglia) when I was only 14 years old to attend the Aeronautical Technical Institute “F. de Pinedo” in Rome.

Needless to say, those years were crucial in cultivating my passion and realizing how many sacrifices becoming a pilot entailed. I knew it would be hard, but I was determined.

When you have such a big ambition, motivation is fundamental. For this reason, I can never thank my parents enough for always believing in me and giving me the chance to been able to accomplish my dream.

The Aeronautical Technical Institute was my launching pad. After a journey that lasted 5 years and ended in July 2015, I prepared for takeoff to reach the next goal: Flight Academy.

In September of that year, I enrolled in Urbe Aero school to get my commercial pilot license.

The choice was simple and immediate. It only took one introduction from the staff at the school I was attending to realize that this was the opportunity I had been waiting for.

I was delighted by the presence of a large fleet of modern aircrafts, the fresh and efficient management of the school and the enormous experience and professionalism of the instructors.

The excellent quality of the training and the technologically advanced aircrafts, useful for the transition to commercial aircrafts, proved to be key elements in achieving my goal. In just two months from the end of my ATPL course I realized my dream of becoming a pilot.

I completed my studies to obtain my license in October 2017, in November I was contacted by Ryanair for selection and in January 2018 I was hired. I am currently a first officer based in Rome Ciampino.

As of today, I can say that 4 years later, the passion and the knowdledge for aviation I was given by Urbe Aero ATO are daily part of my professional life.

Back then I could only imagine it, but now I can say it out loud: there is nothing in the world that allows me to experience unique sensations and emotions like flying from the moment I take off to the moment I land. Enjoying breathtaking views, landscapes and sunsets from a privileged position is one of the best advantages that the pilot profession has ever given me.

Not only that, but this profession has also offered me many unforgettable moments.

Like that time, on a flight Rome Ciampino – Modlin, Warsaw, after landing a passenger entered the cockpit and told me: “Today you have made me the happiest person in the world. I have been following you for years on social networks and I thank you because you have always made me dream, I am passionate about the world of aviation, and I can not believe it today to have flown with you. Thank you for this beautiful emotion.>>

These words filled me with pride, happiness, and even more enthusiasm.

The road to get up here has been challenging but I have no intention of stopping. I want to grow as a pilot, gain experience and become a captain.

I would also like to continue to grow in the world of education because teaching is another one of my greatest passions. It makes me happy and proud to know that with my passion and knowledge I can help someone achieve their dream of flying.
